The Spirit of Mentoring \- A Manual for Adult Volunteers \- \(updated in 2017\) \- has been used as a Resource book for the Mentoring Matters Mentor Training Program, as well as by other community youth mentoring programs in New Zealand and Australia\. It was professionally edited and printed by the author's publishers, Essential Resources\. There are many useful tips and strategies to guide and encourage mentors of young people \- the content crosses all cultures\. It is a user\-friendly resource and especially relevant for the post\-pandemic season\. Much of the basic content has been used by the author mentoring over 1000 teenagers for over forty years\. The manual is a wonderful reference point for anyone parenting, coaching, tutoring or mentoring teenagers especially\.

The Manual is a tribute to the pioneers of youth mentoring globally and contains ideas and opinions the author has gathered over the years, as well as from his personal experience mentoring approximately 1000 adolescents during his teaching career and training over 1000  adult youth mentors\.
